How often should trees be trimmed in St. Johns County?
Most North Florida hardwoods do well on a two to three year cycle. Palms are usually annual. Young trees benefit from lighter structural pruning more often, which prevents the expensive corrective work later.
When is the best time to trim in Florida?
Late winter through early spring is ideal for most hardwoods, before the flush of new growth. Storm-preparation thinning is best done before hurricane season starts in June. Dead, broken or hazardous limbs come off any time of year.
Do you top trees?
No. Topping is not pruning — it wrecks the tree's structure, forces weak regrowth and shortens its life. We prune to ANSI A300 standards using proper reduction and thinning cuts.
Can trimming reduce storm damage?
Yes, meaningfully. Selective thinning lets wind pass through the canopy instead of pushing against it, and removing deadwood and over-extended limbs takes away the parts most likely to come down first.
How much does tree trimming cost in St. Johns County?
It depends on tree size, canopy density, access, and whether we are working over a roof or an open lawn. We quote in writing after seeing the tree, free of charge.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes — and in many cases we can give you an estimate right over the phone. Just send us the property address or zip code along with a few close-up and far-away photos so we can see:
- Tree height — include the sky so we can gauge scale
- Tree size — how wide is the base of the trunk
- Tree location — front yard, side yard, or backyard
- Access — is there a gate, fence, vehicles, or anything else in the way
With that information we can often price it remotely. If not, we'll come out to see it in person.
Do you have a service minimum?
Yes. Our tree trimming starts at $675 and tree removal starts at $850. If these price points are not in your budget, we are not the company for you.
