A hazardous tree is any dangerous, dead, dying, or diseased tree that threatens what's below it — your home, your vehicles, an apartment building, a condo, or your business. These trees don't fail on a schedule. They come down in the next storm, or on the next windy night, and the damage is never cheap.
The warning signs we're called for most: pine trees that have dropped all their needles (a dead pine is one of the most dangerous trees in Jacksonville), trunks with large cancer or rot scarring that are about to break or snap, and water oaks in their final stages — hollowing out and dropping dead, dying limbs onto homes and autos below.
Our crews are trained, fully insured, and equipped to take these trees down safely — even over structures and tight access. Every removal includes complete debris cleanup, and we bill insurance directly when storm damage is involved.
A pine with no needles left is dead — and one of the most dangerous trees in Northeast Florida. Brittle and unpredictable, it can snap and drop with no warning. We take them down before they take out your roof.
Hurricane and storm cleanup — trees on roofs, across driveways, and blocking access. 24/7 emergency response available for active storm situations.
Large areas of cancer or rot scarring mean the trunk is failing. These trees are about to break or snap. We assess the lean and remove them safely before they come down on their own.
Water oaks in their last stages hollow out from the inside and start dropping dead, dying limbs onto homes and autos below. We remove failing oaks over structures with rigging and crane access when needed.
We work directly with your insurance company. We prepare photos, documentation, and scope of work for your adjuster — you pay only your deductible.
Dangerous trees leaning over houses, vehicles, apartments, condos, or commercial buildings. We remove them safely in tight, high-stakes spots — protecting the structure below every step of the way.

Florida follows a general “no-fault” rule for trees — but there’s a major exception. Liability for a dangerous, dead, or diseased tree falls on the owner of the tree (the lot where it was rooted), not automatically on whoever it lands on.
The tree owner (where it was rooted) is responsible for damage & removal.
Negligence / Premises LiabilityThe lot owner it fell on (the impacted neighbor) generally handles it.
“Act of God” / Massachusetts RuleActual or constructive notice. The tree owner knew — or reasonably should have known — the tree was a hazard: visible decay, dead limbs, a severe lean, or an arborist previously calling it unstable.
Failure to exercise reasonable care. Owners have a legal duty to maintain safe premises. Ignoring an obvious hazard until a storm finally blows it over does not excuse the pre-existing neglect.
Insurance & subrogation. The impacted owner’s insurer typically pays for repairs, then uses subrogation to recover from the dangerous-tree owner’s insurer. If the owner knowingly ignored the hazard, their own carrier may even deny liability coverage.
Photograph the decay and send a certified letter asking your neighbor to address it. This creates irrefutable “actual notice” if the tree later collapses.
You may cut encroaching roots or overhanging branches up to your property line at your own expense — as long as the trimming doesn’t kill the tree.
As Florida attorneys explain, liability usually follows negligence — not just where the tree happens to land.
